This alloy has an excellent combination of physical and mechanical properties, excellent castability and long-term stability. Almost 70% of zinc die castings are made from zamak 3. Therefore, this alloy is widely available in die casting. Zamak 3 also offers excellent properties for plating, painting and chromating operations. This is the standard by which other zinc alloys are graded in terms of casting.
