Product Description

Eastern Alloys manufactures a wide range of zinc coatings for the steel coating industry, including Galvalume, Galfan, and various base and brightener alloys for galvanizing processes. These coatings are generally applied to provide a physical barrier as well as galvanic protection to improve corrosion protection for steel products. Eastern Alloys steel coating products are available in forms that meet the needs of the largest continuous steel strip mills and sheet coating plants, post-manufacturing hot dip galvanizers, as well as high-speed pipe and wire coatings.

Galfan

Galfan is used in steel products that require higher ductility/formability, with the same galvanic/physical barrier protection as galvanized products.

Brightening of basic alloys

Eastern Alloys produces both 95-5 (5% aluminum) and 90-10 (10% aluminum) bright alloys that are used to convert a Galvaneal coating bath to a galvanized bath or to maintain the aluminum content in the galvanized bath on a continuous basis.

Galvalume

In steel coating alloys, silicon also improves adhesion between the steel and aluminum alloy layers.Eastern Alloys produces “premix” Galvalume for those manufacturing facilities that do not want the challenges associated with the alloying process. Such challenges include purchasing the various metals to be alloyed, melting, blending, and analyzing the alloys to ensure quality. Eastern also produces master aluminum silicon alloys that are also used to simplify the Galvalume alloying process.

Nickel-zinc master alloy

Eastern Alloys produces primary nickel-zinc alloys for the hot-dip galvanizing process.

ADAK Alloys produces silicon aluminum alloys for various steel coating applications, including the base alloy in the Galvalume process as well as the coating alloy for aluminum steel.

Aluminum-silicon alloys

Silicon is an important element in many types of aluminum alloys. In casting alloys, silicon improves fluidity, wear resistance, hardness, and strength. In steel coating alloys, silicon also improves adhesion between the steel and aluminum alloy layers.
ADAK Alloys produces silicon aluminum alloys for various steel coating applications, including the base alloy in the Galvalume process as well as the coating alloy used in aluminum steel.

ADAK Alloys has the ability to alloy aluminum with a wide range of silicon. Typically, the nominal silicon content of the main galvalume alloy we produce is 3% while the silicon content of the alloy used in aluminum steel can range between 5-11%.
